The new car park at Fairy Pools at Glen Brittle is a partnership between Minginish Community Hall Association (MCHA) and the Outdoor Access Trust for Scotland (OATS), who are a registered charity. To address long-term issues arising from verge parking at Fairy Pools, MCHA purchased the site from Forest Enterprise and now lease it to OATS, who are building and operating a 120-space car park. Some of the income from parking fees comes back to MCHA for community projects, and the rest is reinvested by OATS in pathway projects and environmental restoration work, helping to make Skye's popular locations sustainable as visitor numbers continue to rise.
The car park construction was jointly funded by the Scottish Government, LEADER, Highland Council, the Scottish Land Fund, Highlands & Islands Enterprise, the Minginish community, donations from local tour bus companies, and donations from individuals far and wide.
Parking permits are available for Minginish residents, Skye residents and tour bus operators. The single track road and car park are unsuitable for large coaches.
